Kande McDonald

    Since 2006, Kande McDonald has coached and trained manager and leaders at several major universities including MIT, Harvard, Northeastern, Princeton and The Wharton School at UPenn.

    During her near-decade tenure in HR at MIT, she led the employee rewards and recognition program, led cross-functional teams, and developed and delivered Institute-wide training. Drawing on her earlier careers in the performing arts and yoga, Kande takes a creative and holistic approach to personal and leadership development.

    Her coach training includes Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching, Coaching Fundamentals with the Center for Creative Leadership and Babson College Executive Education’s Coaching Inside the Organization certificate program. She is certified through the International Coach Federation and a certified Internal Coach. She is also a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator practitioner.

    As the mother of 4-year old twins, Kande has experienced the gamut of work and pregnancy/parenting challenges from managing a difficult pregnancy while working full-time, to negotiating an extended maternity leave and returning part-time, to being a nursing mom at work for a full year. She also taught pre-natal yoga for several years prior to working in Human Resources. She’s found that self-care and good communication are essential keys to of the on-going process of creating balance.
